Day 3 - FT Pierce, FL to Lake Worth, FL
Good start at 0645 East from ICW out FT Pierce inlet. Sun in our eyes but weather good - clear and seas quite calm. Headed out inlet to 1 - 1.5 miles off shore and headed South. Made good time at about 6.2 kn. Set fishing gear - silver spoon on satinless leader with 16 0z weight and let out handline about 150 yards. Within one hour landed 15# King Mackeral. ( see video attached). What a bear and workout to get aboard. Thanks for the gaff - it was a lifesaver. Steaked it up and we had our dinner. Made Lake Worth Inlet about 1530 with outgoing tide but some wind from east to push us. Waves not bad just speed over ground a little slower. Made North passage up channel and stopped at Sailfish Marine. Took on fuel, water and block/cube ice and yes ice cream treats. Made way up channel and under bridge to North side anchorage at entrance to city park on Singer Island. Anchoed in 10' of water and held fast. Cooked King Mackerel in foil on grill with onions, lemon, spices and seasoning with Chardonnay.
Day 2 - Melbourne to FT Pierce - 6/12/2011
Nice breeze last night - perfect - almost cool. New windless I repaired and installed was flawless - anchor dug way in and somewhat harder to retrieve then normal during wind last night. 0645 departure and weather clear. Jan made great breakfast of totilla's and egs, coffee aunderway. Wind moved from S to East @ 10-15 kn. Outgoing tide and wind helped us do >= 7 kn and increased as we got closer to FT Pierce. Lots of Ospreys along ICW. Jan made lunch before departure so lunch was a breeze today. Anchored just South of North Ft Pierce Bridge with only 1.0' under keel. Good holding here with Delta. Time for shower on board and then dinghy ride into Harbortown marina to restaurant. Had great blackened mahi sandwich and great live Jazz guitar. Dinghy ride back to Jazz with ice. Had GPS exercise with Jan and together we set GPS way points for next day. This was a good moment that built confidence. Quiet night with some bugs for Captain since I slept outside in cockpit.

Florida Keys Trip - June 2011
Day 1 - KEYS TRIP - WE ARE OFF - 6/11/11 - 0710 departure from NSB. No current probably the best cast off to date. Cereal, oj and coffee breakfast. Fighting some outgoing tide as we headed South making 4.5 - 5 kn. Good weather partly cloudy with variable wind and hot. Turkey sandwiches at lunch and lots of water and gatoraide throughout day. PM - wind became on shore breeze from East at 10-15 which provided a glorious motor sail to Eau Galle. Hit 7.2 kn at 1600 rpm - great! Anchored 1734 in East wind 10-15 off Pineapple Pier - Eau Galle NW side of bridge. Good holding but had to let out plenty scope. 1st day 55.2 miles - Sundowners - G&T time deserved.

New Berth - New Smyrna Beach City Marina
In May of 2010 we found a new home for JAZZ. After about 1 1/2 years on the list at the New Smyrna beach City Marina we made the transition from Titusville, FL and headed about 35 miles North to New Smyrna Beach. This marina is situated just off downtown New Smyrna Beach just South of the hiway #44 bridge on the intercoastal waterway. We have settled in well here and are enjoying all NSB has to offer. The beach is a 15 minute bike ride and restaurants and shopping abound. Also Ponce Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean is only 30 minutes away by boat.
